So, things don’t look any different really. But, lots of framing happening with the roof trusses, adding lookouts (overhangs) and framing dormers. Oregon grape (Mahonia aquifolium) is surviving. Can’t transplant this stuff, so I hope it survives. You have no control over its’ growth. We are hoping to help the natives like Oregon Grape, sage, and grasses grow on the property. We also have Prickly Pear (Opuntia) all over the place. We’ll need trees as well. Ponderosa Pine (Pinus ponderosa), Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) and Black Hawthorne (Crataegus douglasii) are some options. I’ve got some Doug Firs in pots and Hawthorns in our rental’s garden, ready to go.
